Fit Guide: How to Measure Yourself at Home for the Perfect Bralette Fit

Three models standing against a tan background. The left most model wears the Cloud Cotton Thin Strap Bralette in Slate, the middle model wears the Bliss Triangle Bralette in Beige, and the right most model wears the Bliss Triangle Bralette in Black. All three models wearing matching colored underwear to emphasize a coordinated set.

You don’t need a professional fitting to find your perfect bralette size — just a soft measuring tape and a few minutes.

Whether you’re shopping wireless styles or finally retiring that too-tight band, here’s how to take your measurements and find your most comfortable fit ever.

What you’ll need

  1. A flexible measuring tape (or a string + ruler/hard measuring tape)
  2. A mirror, a non-padded bra, and a few uninterrupted minutes
  3. Our Harper Wilde Size Guide pulled up for easy reference

Step 1. Measure your band size

  • Wrap the tape around your ribcage, right under your bust
  • Make sure it’s snug but not tight, and level all the way around
  • Round to the nearest whole number
  • Pro tip: if you get an odd number, round up to the nearest even number — that's your band size

Step 2. Measure your bust size

  • Now measure around the fullest part of your bust, across the nipple
  • Keep the tape level and relaxed, not pulled tight
  • Again, round to the nearest whole number

Step 3. Find your cup size

  • Subtract your band size from your bust measurement
  • Each inch of difference = 1 cup size (1" = A, 2" = B, 3" = C, and so on).
  • Example: Bust = 39", Band = 36" → 39 - 36 = 3 → You're likely a 36C

But wait, what about bralettes?

Unlike structured bras, bralettes use general sizing (S–6XL) instead of traditional cup/band combos.

Use your bust and band measurements to reference our Size Guide.

If you’re between sizes, consider your comfort preference:

  • Size up for a softer, stretchier fit
  • Size down for more lift and compression

Try-on tips for bralettes

  1. The band should lie flat and stay in place without riding up
  2. Your boobs should be fully contained—no spillage, shelfing, squishing, or gaps
  3. Adjust the straps to make sure there’s no digging or slipping
  4. You should forget you’re even wearing it by mid-morning

And once you find your fit, you’ll finally understand why so many people say our wireless bralettes feel like sweatpants for your boobs.
