Fit Guide: How to Measure Yourself at Home for the Perfect Bralette Fit

You don’t need a professional fitting to find your perfect bralette size — just a soft measuring tape and a few minutes.
Whether you’re shopping wireless styles or finally retiring that too-tight band, here’s how to take your measurements and find your most comfortable fit ever.
What you’ll need
- A flexible measuring tape (or a string + ruler/hard measuring tape)
- A mirror, a non-padded bra, and a few uninterrupted minutes
- Our Harper Wilde Size Guide pulled up for easy reference
Step 1. Measure your band size
- Wrap the tape around your ribcage, right under your bust
- Make sure it’s snug but not tight, and level all the way around
- Round to the nearest whole number
- Pro tip: if you get an odd number, round up to the nearest even number — that's your band size
Step 2. Measure your bust size
- Now measure around the fullest part of your bust, across the nipple
- Keep the tape level and relaxed, not pulled tight
- Again, round to the nearest whole number
Step 3. Find your cup size
- Subtract your band size from your bust measurement
- Each inch of difference = 1 cup size (1" = A, 2" = B, 3" = C, and so on).
- Example: Bust = 39", Band = 36" → 39 - 36 = 3 → You're likely a 36C
But wait, what about bralettes?
Unlike structured bras, bralettes use general sizing (S–6XL) instead of traditional cup/band combos.
Use your bust and band measurements to reference our Size Guide.
If you’re between sizes, consider your comfort preference:
- Size up for a softer, stretchier fit
-
Size down for more lift and compression
Try-on tips for bralettes
- The band should lie flat and stay in place without riding up
- Your boobs should be fully contained—no spillage, shelfing, squishing, or gaps
- Adjust the straps to make sure there’s no digging or slipping
- You should forget you’re even wearing it by mid-morning
And once you find your fit, you’ll finally understand why so many people say our wireless bralettes feel like sweatpants for your boobs.
